The Internet of Things (IoT), a worldwide network interconnected objects uniquely addressable, based on standard communication protocols, has become disruptive technology, even for decision-makers who develop products them. It was reported in 2015 and 2018 that associated with the Fortune 1000 firms stated they were hesitant to use IoT-based value propositions, primarily due privacy security concerns. In this article, we view decision-maker willingness through lens social construction technology (SCOT) theory. We utilize SCOT-based generational cohorts firm investigate whether are relevant firm's decision launch an IoT proposition. argue it is pertinent consider age-based generations as stakeholders IoT, which currently constitutes gap literature SCOT. employ exploratory survey analysis supports relevance decision-making cohorts. focus age exclusion other potential cohort possibilities discuss limitation our conclusion.
